We would like to invite you to sponsor our Annual Graduation Ceremony happening April 27^th & 28^th, 2024.

The events will take place at Shady Grove MS on the 27^th (2 PM) and Nova Elite Dance Alliance on the 28^th(12:00 PM) and will attract over 200 attendees and participants. As a sponsor of our event, your corporation will be promoted via programs, social media, flyers and posters throughout the DC metro-area before and after the event.

Also, Abadá-Capoeira DC is a non-profit organization so qualified donations are tax-deductible.

For the past 16 years, Abadá-Capoeira DC has been a leader in the promotion in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC of capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art and self-defense discipline that brings together fighting techniques, acrobatics, dance, percussion, and songs. Through the study of capoeira, we seek to inspire and empower people to realize their full potential as responsible, confident, productive members of society. Capoeira is such an important art expression that it is part of the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Abada-Capoeira DC is under the guidance of Mestranda Yara, who has been a capoeira practitioner since 1982 and also holds Bachelor’s Degrees in psychology and physical education, Graduate Degrees in Sports Psychology and in Capoeira and a Master’s Degree in Psychology. Mestranda Yara has traveled around the world working with the diverse groups of children, adolescents, adults, people with special needs, and the elderly. In 2008 she moved to the Washington DC area and to implement the Abadá-Capoeira program and in 2015 she was approved for her Permanent Residency in the U.S. as a person with Exceptional Ability in in the National Interest for her knowledge and achievements in Capoeira and in August 2023 she received the graduation of Mestranda, making her one of the top 6 women capoeiristas in Abada-Capoeira all over the world, and part of the directive board responsible for coordinate, supervise and guide the work of Abada-Capoeira not only in DC but also around the world.

Abada-Capoeira DC has literally transformed the lives of hundreds of youths and individuals. We are not just teaching capoeira; we form a community of friends who encourage each other and learn from one another. We make a point of giving back to those in need by promoting social campaigns such as blood donation as well as food, clothing and toys donations and other charitable activities, so our students learn to be good citizens.

We invite you to join us as our Sponsor and to ensure that Abadá-Capoeira DC continues to make ours a healthier, more confident, productive and conscientious community.
