CLASS DESCRIPTION

Capoeira is a fun and engaging way for children to stay active while learning new skills. In each class, kids explore movement through playful games, music, and rhythm, helping them develop balance, coordination, flexibility, and focus.

By singing, playing instruments, and moving together, children gain confidence, creativity, and social skills while also discovering the cultural roots of Capoeira. More than just exercise, classes create a supportive community where kids can grow, make friends, and express themselves in a positive and exciting way.

CLASS DESCRIPTION

Capoeira is a unique practice that blends martial arts, dance, acrobatics, and music into a powerful training experience. It provides a dynamic workout that builds strength, flexibility, rhythm, and endurance, while also improving focus and relieving stress.

Beyond fitness, Capoeira is a living cultural tradition. Students learn foundational movements, rhythms, and songs that connect them to its history and community. Training offers not only physical health but also creativity, self-expression, and camaraderie, making it a rewarding experience for adults of all ages and backgrounds.

CLASS DESCRIPTION

Move, play, and bond with your little one in this unique Capoeira class for toddlers and their grown-ups. Through music, playful movements and little games, you and your child will explore movement together. This is a wonderful opportunity to build balance, coordination, and confidence while sharing a rich cultural experience.

Our Mommy (or Daddy) & Me class provides an enriching, high-energy experience that strengthens the parent-child bond while introducing your little one to a dynamic art form. This isn’t just a class; it’s a shared journey of discovery.

More than just a martial art, Capoeira is a celebration of music, rhythm, and history. During our classes you will learn how music is a fundamental component of Capoeira. These expanded music classes are offered exclusively to those enrolled as regular students in our program.

We teach the students to sing traditional songs in Portuguese, understand the cultural significance of the music and to play the instruments, from the berimbau, the most important instrument in Capoeira, that sets the tone and rhythm for the entire roda, to all other instruments of our Bateranga (Abada-Capoeira orchestra), including the commanding atabaque (drum), the versatile pandeiro (tambourine), the vibrants agogô and cuia. You will also expand your musical horizons by learning rhythms from other rich Afro-Brazilian art forms, such as samba de roda, maculelê, and more.

Teaching Training Program

Designed for our more advanced students only. This program offers a comprehensive pathway to becoming a skilled and knowledgeable Capoeira instructor. It will teach them the skills needed to guide, inspire, and develop a new generation of Capoeiristas while preserving the integrity and cultural richness of the art.

The teaching training program will explore the technical aspects of Capoeira Abada, the music and culture of capoeira, as well as elements of our methodology and pedagogy through a blend of lectures, debates and guided teaching practices.
